Power of Attorney in Property Transactions

28th point out of 51 Checklist for the Property Purchaser, by 11Square Feet / Amit Raut

It may not be the case that you have made the intention to purchase any property, but the person you are purchasing from does not have their name in the Sale Deed, and the person you are dealing with regarding the property only has the power? So, my dear friend, you don't need to worry; Power of Attorney can take various forms.

All you need is the right caution, and your knowledge related to property can reduce your risk and may lead you to some good deals as well.

General Power of Attorney is a legal document that grants someone else the right to act on your behalf in financial and legal matters. It can be used for various purposes, such as managing financial matters, making healthcare decisions, or handling assets.

Just make sure to carefully read and understand the Power document, seek legal advice if necessary, and you can also purchase a property with Power of Attorney, provided that the party holding the power can properly execute the Sale Deed for the property.
